The first photos of the upcoming Disney+ film, Hocus Pocus 2, have been released. The images show Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reprising their roles as Mary Sanderson and Winifred Sanderson respectively.
The hocus pocus 2 release date 2021 is a sequel to the 1993 Disney film, Hocus Pocus. It is set for release in 2021.
Set building for the highly anticipated Hocus Pocus 2 has been seen on site, indicating that filming will begin shortly. Early this week, photos of the sequel’s set were discovered near Lincoln, Rhode Island and shared on Twitter, revealing the beginnings of construction on what seem to be homes. Perhaps they’ll be ready in time for shooting to begin in October. The Valley Breeze, a local newspaper, provides further information on the set, reporting that “Representatives from Fairy Dust Productions” recently had to pitch the Lincoln Town Council on the set they planned to build at the Chase Farm park.
Location manager Alex Berard allegedly informed the town council about the established designs, “Think: Plymouth Plantation.” “Chase Farm’s background appeals to us. It bears the appearance of an ancient New England farm.” Berard and his colleagues characterized the sets they would construct in the park as “a 1600s town, replete with two-story building facades,” according to the Valley Breeze. They also stated that one of their buildings will undergo “a controlled fire,” perhaps implying that we’ll witness a flashback to the Sanderson sisters’ early days in the film.

It was originally announced that Hocus Pocus 2 would be released in 2022, with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy reprising their roles from the 1993 original picture. Three young ladies “inadvertently transport the Sanderson sisters to modern-day Salem and must find out how to prevent the child-hungry witches from unleashing a new sort of devastation on the globe” in Hocus Pocus 2.
Anne Fletcher, who directed The Proposal and 27 Dresses, will direct the sequel, succeeding Adam Shankman, who will transition to an executive producer position. Lynn Harris will produce the film, with Ralph Winter and David Kirschner serving as executive producers. Steven Halt will serve as a co-producer on the project.
“People need to laugh now more than ever. We should laugh every day, and there’s much to chuckle about with these three incredible ladies portraying wonderful characters from such a popular film “Previously, Fletcher said in a statement. “I’m ecstatic to be able to help bring these witches back to life, and the fact that I’ll be working with my Disney friends again makes it even more meaningful. This is a film for everyone, from the original film’s fans to the next generation of moviegoers, and I can’t wait to see it.”
